Northern meet, KWHQ (southerners welcome)

Post by Jacko »

Well KWHQ is very nearly built and I think a welcome to the neighbourhood party is in order once we've moved in.

Were hoping to have the keys in the next week all being well so I'm putting this invite out to all BMW owners who fancy meeting up for a bit of pub grub and a drive about after checking out the new unit.

The unit is near Halifax so not going to be local to everyone but I would like a good turnout so please come along if you can as i'd love it if we could get a good turnout of E21s and other classic BMWs up for a bit of a photoshoot, probably too short notice for a mag feature or anything like that unless anyone knows editors of retro or BMW specific mags and can pull some strings?

Invite is open to anyone who owns a classic BM and turns up in it, I'll not actually turn anyone away if your not of course but I want as many BMs as possible to get us all in the mood for some fun summer driving.

What weekend dates suit people the most? I'll either be drifting or moving units on the 10th-11th so either 17th-18th or
24th-25th would be good.

Suggestions and ideas welcome, and if anyone knows of some good driving roads around these parts have a look at some route options. ;)

The later in the month the better for the warmer weather would be good. We could have a ride up to Skipton. There's some saweet roads up that ways.

Looks like it'll just be us two Gonzo seen as no one else has replied they must not be keen on the idea.

Weather has been lovely the last couple of days, felt like summer i was loving it.

I'll be in the e36 anyway rather than the e21 as it still has a fair bit to be done. I'll still give you little E21s a run though it'll be fun! :)

I'd hoped to be coming up on weekend of 10th/11th this month but forgot that I'll actually be trying to get to grips with Snetterton in the e30. I'll be up not too long after though and hopefully running nitrous by then too.

So what date are we going to go for then?

If anyone else wants to come up to do some missionary work in the north we could have an early Saturday e21 convoy ''red cross'' style.

Yeah bring some southerners up with you mark that way you won't be the only one with two left feet and webbed hands. ;)

I can't talk, I'm a midlander. Beats being a southerner or northerner though I suppose. :D

If you get 5 minutes spare, Stewart Lee gives an enlightening version of Scottish history.

I have to admit to being a Highlander by upbringing- but I cannot be one of the few who has never seen Braveheart!
