E30 wiring help (Not E21 i know! Sorry, but E30 zone sucks)

Does anyone know which wire of a 4 cyl M40 engine is the live for the fuel pump ?? That is assuming the M40 has an electric pump.....? Cheers

From memory I think it's green/purple and comes off a relay mounted on the bulkhead under a plastic cover. Yes it's an electric pump that sits in the tank underneath a hatch under the rear seat (drivers side).

I had a dry connection on a 325i from the relay to pump so I took a fused live off the battery as temporary fix.

Cheers mate. Im going to put a fuse in between the pump and the loom as a security device like i did on the E21. Just unplug it when its parked.

Just found the green purple wire under that cover. It runs along the bulk head then into the car next to the steering column. Will have to take the cover off and have a goosey. 10amp fuse will do the job wont it ?

No that's the wrong one mate. That's the ignition live..

Iirc its the green wire no stripe...

Cool, ill check it out on the weekend. Keep finding nasty bits on the car. Need to have a good look around it when its dry
