I'm not talking about the bodge to fit the E30 twin headlight unit.
I want to know if the bare E30 light units will fit into the E21 frame. I know the E21 shared light units with the pre '82 E24 & CS coupes but I thought a set of E30 smiley's or even some of those funky project lights might fit into the E21 frame with the 3 screw surround.
I have a set of pre '87 E24 lights that might work.

I know that Steve (Bastiom) here fitted Airfield landing lights to where the full beam lights are on his Rally E30
to huge effect- I have never seen brighter!!
