Extra wires

I just rebuilt my 82 315 Baur and have a two left over wires that come from one the two main wiring harnesses. The other wires from this harness connect to the thermostat and to the alernator.

- One of the wires is brown and is obviously a ground wire
- the other has a large black clip

Not sure where they connect to.

Thoughts / suggestions?

pretty sure that one with the black clip goes on the carb but i think i didnt need that when i fitted my webber on ( this was a couple of years ago! )

btw this sort of question needs to be in the technical section.

Yes, the owner before me switched to a Weber. Do you think that the black clip went to the previous carb - a Solex perhaps?
