There is a saying in greek but I don't think I can translate it very well in order to be understood in English...
It is something like "we ate our tongue out of it", or something like that...when someone/something is much beloved and cared for by somebody, and all the everybody else see this this big love with an amount of jealousy, and suddenly something happens to this beloved item/person, we have this saying.....
