Stripped rear drum adjusters..self-adjusting cyl ?

Post by jarmilone »

Hello boys, please can you advise how to repair, or remove/replace rear drum brake adjuster ?? managed to strip the head of the 17mm bolt on the backing plate :screwy

Thanks in advance !!

Edit: does sb know if self-adjusting rear wheel cylinders suitable for E21 exist ??

I cut the manual adjusters off and fitted e21 518i brake shoes and auto adjusters...You might not need to replace the e21 shoes with e28 shoes . I did because i bought the whole thing to offer up as a fix for the same problem ...

I just cut the manual adjusters off and fitted all the e28 parts straight on .... used the e21 brake cylinder and handbrake cable it all went together quite easy..
