Identifying a Limited Slip Diff

Post by Dod »

How do I go about this? I've been told one of the cars I have has LSD but as its a breaker and the engine no longer works, how do I tell?

I know a general rule of thumb is that by turning one shaft, if the other turns as well, its an LSD but if the diff was welded, it'd do the same.

Any ideas?

A search for 'lsd or open diff' came up with this useful result: http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... 3&p=154898
