Which Blaupunkt?

Post by H792 »

Hi, I currently have the Blaupunkt Hamburg MW/LW radio installed which, following a 200 mile journey today, was increasingly tiresome. Very few stations broadcast on MW or LW bar sports type stations, which don't interest me.

I would like to carefully remove and set aside the existing unit and replace it with the standard fitment BMW would have fitted for those who specified the cassette option/FM radio. Could anyone tell me what Blaupunkt model this was?

Thanks

Lovely thanks.

There's a Bravaria on a US site at the moment somoen wants around £260 for!!!

There's nothing on ebay unfortunately and I don't want to damage the ambience of the early 80s interior so I'm going to buy a new unit and install it under the seat within an enclosure with the aerial extended and run around the interior behind the trim to serve the under seat unit.

There are enough fm transmitters (modulators) around that allow you to use iPod or MP3 players to be received as radio stations on your old radio too, perhaps that's an option?

I see there's not much supply of the old radio's, only two analogo radio-only units but these are fs in Germany and seller only wants to ship to Germany. With a bit of luck and patience one may pop up one of these days...
