You need to upload and post pics as I'm too lazy to register on the other forum.

I found some 520i flanges that fit and are 102mm diameter and the width of the diff is 245mm which is still wider than the E21 diff??

The only side loader I know works is the one from an e12

This diff with the E12 flanges installed is the same width as the diff from the E12 520 M20 powered car it came from 245mm
So the case size must be standard? but still wider than the E21 diff but 20 or so mm.

hmm..

I have a modified rear beam and an e12 LSD waiting to go on my car - you use the stock half shafts and prop and it fits fine.

Cant figure out why you have 20mm or so difference mate.

I did some research on this.

Early Sideloaders have bolt in output flanges which are 108mm PCD mounting bolts for the driveshafts.

Later Sideloaders have the push fit (snap ring) type of output flanges also at 108mm PCD. These can be changed for the E21 output flanges 100mm PCD allowing the fitment of E21 driveshafts. The E21 flanges reduce the the width of the mounting faces.

My diff is the early type with bolt in flanges and it required shorter driveshafts.

Hope this helps

What is the width of your diff - flange to flange?
Could you post some pics of the the diff and that modified rear beam? Please? :)
