fuel hoses

Post by Joe Wright »

Hi guys,
Does anyone know where I can get the fuel hoses from in the UK, preferably. Im after the breather hose really but might be an idea to replace them all, I don't know where to find them though. I understand they tend to leak as they were not designed to be used with modern fuel grades so I need the right replacements. Any advice would be great. Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe, you could probably try the dealers, but any good motor factor will have them for cheaper. I had mine changed not so long ago. Just took the old hoses and they cut me one meter lengths. Smaller is better than bigger as you'll get a nice tight fit. You'll probably need to renew the clips with new banjo ones at the same time.
They should know which ones are fuel grade, but usually have a nylon weave running through them. Good luck!

Someone may correct me on the measurement, but I believe I asked for 7mm or 8mm internal diameter braided flexi fuel hoses when replacing mine.

I forgot about that guide that Jim posted. Very important for changing the main hoses :-)

We had a topic about this a while ago and the search option would have given you that info, but I just copied that into the FAQ section as well: http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=18255
