Hi all. I joined on here a couple of months back, and Ive been soaking in all the gen so far. I bought a green 1981 Baur 320a in Edinburgh, which has been in a garage since 2000. Its pretty good for its age just needing rear arches and possibly 1 sill bodily. The engine pees out oil when it runs, and the brakes are almost non-existant. I have (hopefully) just bought an '88 manual 325i to plunder for its mechanical bits. Any good words of wisdom would be appreciated there.
Pictures will follow when photobucket decides to play. Neil. Oh Im in Glasgow.

Hi Neil, welcome here!
Looking forward to seeing pics of your new toy in the Owner's Gallery! In the meantime, what do you want to use the E30 for, engine conversion?
Any idea about the source of the oil leak? Sometimes it's just as simple as a bad oil pressure sender or a oil sump gasket.
Brakes: give 'em a rebuild, make sure to take them fully apart and give the calipers new seals, and don't save on pads. You'll like the improvements after the work even though it's still 30+ years old technology!

The engine and gearbox from the E30 will be used, plus anything else useful. 30+ year old technology is new to me - My main classic is an Austin Healey 3000 - thats fifties technology !
