Brake caliper rebuild

Post by mdw »

I need to refurb the front brake
calipers but all the kits I've seen only contain the dust covers and piston seals. They don't appear to contain the o-rings that are between the 2halves. My question can anyone tell me where to get a complete kit or where to get the o-rings from? Is it something that the dealer will do?

Hi,caliper seals, calipers, and dust shields are exposed to the elements and wear, the o'rings do not , hence no need to replace, hth

Hi there ! I rebuilt my calipers using FRENKIT kits and pistons, those kits have everything needed, including the o-rings.
I dunno about availability in UK (as I dont know what brands your parts stores sell) , but it was not a problem to buy them here in Czech rep. and they were pretty reasonably priced...
