u could make your own for much less using parts from rally design .
tbh though gaz coilovers ain't all that. don't believe me? well I own a set!
the ride height isn't seperate from spring tension. the adjustment for fronts require a special tool which is easy to lose
the finish is a bit poor and goes minging unless you regularly clean them.
rpm always send you springs that are too soft
they cost too much
you need the adjustable top mounts cos they weld them wrong and there's 1 degree difference of camber at the front which is a country mile
they don't come with top mounts
the rears have a bottom rubber bush which isn't the right size unless you spend a grand and get a pillow ball but from what I've seen there's no dust cover.
c spanners are cheap weak shit
springs rattle in the seat unless you adjust it so its at a height that makes them loose or the car is too high.
I paid 450 for mine but that was a group buy and jimmy had a moan at me cos of the price!

may I add I've got new springs now and spent shot loads of time messing with settings and geometry and height. the bc coilovers / tiens and random gab coilovers have been miles easier .
I've pretty much just fitted them and instantly awesome.

In fairness to the vendor he's a trader and these are new/unused items that have also been fitted with stiffer springs. You also need to factor in the cost of the struts you'd be required to supply usually, plus courier costs.
Personally, I think if you're buying coilovers for a street car you should either research suitable spring rates or expect to change them as you experiment with set-up and ride height. Springs for coilovers aren't expensive new and used one's can be had for a tenner a pair.
The finish on Gaz stuff is OK for the price in my opinion. You can always pay a little more and get the nickel coated ones, which don't corrode. My e30 race ones still look as good as new!
I have had my own troubles over the years, but Gaz have always sorted them without even charging me. The Golds I've taken off MIB (after the fire) are going for a rebuild and will be ''as new'' for £200. I don't think you can say fairer than that.
You also have limited choices for ''off the shelf'' coilovers here in the UK. Spax do their own coilovers that are similarly priced as the GHA. Apart from that, you can make your own using Rally Design kit or look at importing from abroad.
Finally, I would also ask yourself why you want to fit coilovers instead of a regular suspension set-up with uprated shocks & springs? I fitted them because a) I saw other people fitting them, b) I'm a bit of a tart and c) I thought I needed infinite ride-height adjustability when in fact, I rarely changed it at all. This time round, had I not already got coilies, I would be looking at decent shocks and custom length uprated springs.
In fact, if anyone wants to make me a decent offer for a set of Gaz Golds & RPM front top-mounts, feel free!?

As far as I can tell, these prices do not include the cost of donor struts and couriers. The listings are for GHA not Golds, so he's posting the wrong picture.
If you agree a price you should stick with it though.

The minimum number of people needed to constitute the group just never saw it through. A couple of people paid their money and were just left waiting. As a result it just never happened. It just became a waste of time and effort and reflected badly on the individual organising things.

My experience with this said member was excellent I got my gaz coilovers off him with my own spring rates cheaper than anyone else at the time. he was more than helpful and his customer service and communications were 2nd to none. I would not hesitate in recomending him to someone else or using him again. I personally think your being a little unfair and too quick to start throwing mud.

People should also factor in costs of 323 struts for conversion. They used to be had for £150 a pair but regularly make £250 nowadays. They're also getting much harder to find.

I don't know what supplier you guys are on about and I agree it doesn't sound good, but it makes it clear that you better do extensive research otherwise you might end up paying too much. But isn't that always the case?
