WEBER 32/36 CONVERSION
WEBER 32/36 CONVERSION
Hi can anybody give me a bit of advice on the weber conversion. I have aquired a weber 32/36 for my '83 316 and wonderd if anybody had done a similar conversion and retained the original airfilter setup or does the weber sit up to high in the engine bay so you have to use the pancake style filter. Thankyou for any advice on this.

IIRC the weber filter fouls the underneath of the bonnet. I think there are adapter flanges available to use the pancake filter.

Depends whether the carb was supplied as an e21 direct replacement or not? Also depends on whether the inlet manifold is a 4 bolt Weber or one that requires the adaptor.
I always found the 28/36 to work really well on the m10.

I thought it might sit to high. I just wanted the best of both worlds, fitting the Weber and not loosing the look of the original filter. Thanks for the advice.

Re: WEBER 32/36 CONVERSION
Mark, I find that when still small revs, (eg when just throttling to accelerate from idle), it has some lack of power between, let's say, 1000 and 1500 rpm? I was used to press very very lightly the accelerator after red lights, with the solex. Now I find I have to push a bit more, otherwise I get a lot of exhaust silencer trembling, if you get what I mean...e21-Mark wrote:Depends whether the carb was supplied as an e21 direct replacement or not?
