Hi guys,
I am putting some Apex 40mm lowering springs on my 316. Ideally when you change the springs I know you should change shocks and top mounts too but Is it alright to use standard shocks and top mounts with these lowering springs if they are in good condition?
Thanks everyone
Another question about lowering. Sorry.

If they're in good condition. I'm betting the top mounts haven't been replaced since it left the factory though. I'd replace them just for peace of mind.
I've got a nearly new set of front and rear dampers and top mounts coming out of my old 316 in the next couple of months if you can wait. Only about 5,000 miles on them.

Re: Another question about lowering. Sorry.
I have Apex springs. When I fitted them I left the same shocks, and it was OK.
I think the only issue is that your shocks, (especially if the springs you had before, were the factory ones), have been "used" to work in a bigger height and suddenly you force them to work in a significantly smaller distance. So they are going to get worn faster, and soon you will be about to replace them too.

Thanks mate. Will probably replace them too once I have saved up some money.
