Little girl on her way!

Post by PeteK »

The 323i is on her way over to return to us. She's been in Dad's care for the last few years. I haven't driven her since a track day back in 2008, so it'll be good to get her back. I'm already planning the work I'm going to do!

She's pretty much like all unrestored e21s... the list of work goes on further than the budget! Everything works apart from the cold start injector relay, but there's always the carpet, dash, heater controls, missing boot lining, incorrect offset wheels, etc, etc that need working on. After that, I'll get on to world hunger and then give her a re-spray

My wife's a bit grumpy because she thinks I should have got the e28 M535i over (because it has aircon and power steering), but I just don't "love" the e28 in the same way I do the e21.

Re: 323i Delivered and home safely

Post by PeteK »

Well, our little 323i made is safely to Perth. Afte all those years in storage it still fired up and ran OK (after a little warm up period). I'd forgotten just how much fun she is to drive. Even on the ten minute drive back to our warehouse, it was an absolute hoot! My wife drove her home last night and said exactly the same thing.

Got to get started on the fix up this weeked. Get rid of the cracked windscreen and take off the doubled-up sway bars we were fiddling with on the track (they won't pass registration test!). Then the big one will be the emmissions control. It's all disappeared over the years and now I'm going to need to either restore it or fake it well enough to pass the test.

Hi Pete,
Welcome back and good luck with the car. Trevor showed me the photo of the car in your "shed" the other night.
Hope all goes well with the upgrades. I guess we lose the car off historic rego. Enjoy!
