No, I'm not local unfortunately. I am from Holland, as is the the M5 converted E3 I'm referring to. Drove this car through Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland last winter in a winter trial and boy, was that fun! Unfortunately, a (not too bad) traffic accident in the summer ended the life of this E3. But all of its technique is OK and plug-and-play in any other E3. Car really goes like a rocket, I can assure you that...

But every E3 is a lovely and underestimated car in my opinion. So I'll be closely following your thread!

Greetz,
Walter.

Sorry to hear about your accident Walter, any chance you could post some photos up? Your car sounds quite a beast and you've obviously been there and done that! Feel free to give your advice whenever you like too :)

Believe that was this car, taken at this year's Sharknose Meeting just before its sad demise I guess

E3 Teardown January 5th and 6th Jan Manchester

Post by arshad76 »

Does anyone remember the camaraderie shown in Dr Jim's Bauer Rebuildathon? If you don't then nows your chance to re-live it!

Nas80 and Reck (I think) have volunteered to help a hand stripping down an E3 in a workshop Problemchild has provided. If there is anyone in the Manchester area who wouldn't mind helping a hand and a set of tools then we should be able to make light work of stripping it down to a spare shell in a day I'm sure.

Drinks and food will of course and any help would be extremely appreciated.

A few photos of the car in question

In order to manage expectations  , this E3 is not mine, but belongs to my best friend. I am not that technical, but should you have any questions I can get you in touch with the owner. The conversion was very carefully done but not 100% finished. He also had a second chassis (a 3.0Si) and his plan was to build one car from those both. Unfortunately, due to the accident and lot of other priorities, my friend decided not to move on with this project. That's the reason why both cars are for sale at the moment.

Please contact me if needed, I will do my best to help you (get in touch with the right persons).

Good luck, happy Holidays!

Greetz,
Walter.

You're more than welcome Mark. Stripping this E3 could help abolish the North-South divide. I don't mind southern fairies at all (sorry force of habit)
