Bracket confusion

Post by PeteK »

I have this bracket attached to the engine block in the 323i and I'm trying to work out what it is. It looks like it should be for a power steering pump or an aircon compressor, but I don't have either of those and it doesn't look like the mounts shown in Realoem.

The reason for my question is that I undid the bolts to get it off and it appears to be "glued". I didn't want to start prising or hammering it off if there's something under there that's important!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Over on the right hand side of the engine it should be an aircon compressor bracket, perhaps some aftermarket solution.
