Clutch type radiator fan.
I am trying to remove the clutch type fan from my 82 323i. Is the thread left or Right hand and is there any special knack to removal?

Re: Clutch type radiator fan.
Based on year I'd say you have the late style with the 32mm nut with reverse thread. I used the search function which got me this recent discussion on removing the fan. Will try to add a similar item with pics to the FAQ section soon.

i was wondering if matey actually got that nut off using the swift wack with a chisel method (if my name was steve jobs id have patented it)
the thread is OPPOSITE to normal - as in you turn the nut clockwise to take it off.
