U.K multicar insurance advice please?

So I'm currently insured with Adrian flux for my E21, paying £150 for a limited mileage classic policy for my E3 and I'm considering buying an Alpina B10

Cheapest quote I've had is £2k as I can't transfer my no claims across either.

Adrian flux just aren't being very smart when it comes to offering a cuter solution that could cover two, potentially three cars.

Is there a cheaper way that anyone could advise? I'm happy to go on a limited mileage of say 5K.ive got access to 4 cars and buses currently to share the mileage load on!

I have been with flux for years and will be leaving them soon.

I got a quote on my E21 with a plan insurance of £180.

I left flux for another company called classicline on another car and saved £500.

I also got a quote of classicline for another car i have currently with hic....saved over £250.

I dont bother with multicar when classic policies can save you this much....try the companies i mentioned.

Ha ha, you're so shamelessly materialistic! Well I just fancy something modernish with some oomph. Have fancied an Alpina for a while and,I've managed to find one. Not the cheapest, but has been looked after and that's the main thing. I'll see how I get on with the insurance quote as that will be the decider.

Is it an e39 ? My experience is that the early cars are not that great hence why they are fairly cheap. We used to have a 3.3 in the family which was a nice car but slightly underpowered. We've got a V8S now which is nice but thirsty !
Do lots of homework and try and get one with as may option boxes ticked as this helps resale. Also, instrument clusters are a common fault on the e39.

Yes it is an E39 and it's an early one. V8'and you're right the early ones suffered from engine problems. However, this,one has been maintained well by the looks of things with a bill for 3,800 spent on the engine in Dec 2012. Block was replaced and head gasket upgraded to the stronger metal X5 type. I spoke to the guy who did the work and well respected in Alpina circles. Said the engine would be good for while now.

Perfect thanks Rob. I'm not sure I'mg going to buy this particular B10 now, however if I do I know of Footman James and I'll see if they can hook me up.

Footman James is who I was going to suggest, my dad used them for multiple BMW's back in the 80/90s and I seem to recall they do discounts for BMWCC members as well?

Yes you're right Ben I've used Footman James once in the past. Their rep was helpful, unfortunately couldn't class a B10 as a classic and said I would really need to have 4 cars to get a deal. I more than likely won't go with the Alpina and then review carefully the best renewal when the time comes for me in July.
