Wheel Courier company?
I bought what I was told were genuine 17" ALpina alloys, only for them to be replicas. I now have to send them back at my cost (thanks ebay!) Does anyone know a good courier company, or is royal mail the way to go? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I would return them personally, deliver them straight through the idiots windows.

Re: Wheel Courier company?
It has really, really annoyed me. It's been a long time since I've left negative feedback on ebay, but this fellas going to get a nicely worded one. To make matters worse, he'd send me one word symbols on buyer dispute like "?" when I'd specifically told him that they were useless to my requirements being fakes. Still insisted on selling them to me and £100 for some shabby replicas is just nonsense. Ebay's buyer protection helped, but I'm still out of pocket for sending them back and I think this is something else they should cover in their insurance. I wouldn't mind if it was something like a USB stick!Jeroen wrote:I would return them personally, deliver them straight through the idiots windows.
BTW thank you Mark, that was exactly the service I was looking for. I'll go ahead and arrange it now. Thanks again

It's just it's all done and dusted now so no real need I guess. Learnt my lesson with that particular seller though, has a series of misrepresenting sales by the looks if it!

Did you see a photo of the wheels?
There's one out there with my name on it.

Some responsibility for the buyer as well, it is easy to have the seller confirm if they have Alpina printed in the centers or not.

Re: Wheel Courier company?
Photos from the advert that isn't on ebay anymore. Several photos of the wheels, but none close up of the centres. Take Jeroen's point about asking for additional photos, but I was going of the sellers description "genuine set very rare and expensive" Only on closer inspection did I see no center Alpina casting that got me suspicious and I did a little more research. As a lessons learned i'll make sure this is visible and seller can confirm, but still feel it was a described incorrectly by the seller and I took what he said at face value.

Agree, genuine set is genuine set but since there's too much fraud going on I'd ask a second and if necessary a 3rd time to make sure.

The other problem is that people are becoming more law savvy. They know that so long as they say it's all a genuine mistake they won't face a deception charge. They also know that it costs, both time and money, to take out County Court actions in order to reclaim money. There are more and more cases of dodgy sellers coming to light recently.

Re: Wheel Courier company?
That's probably true Mark and it has happened in the past with ebay auctions, but luckily it has been in the minority of cases. Ebay buyer protection helps, but I am out of pocket for delivering them back. Interesting what you say about avoiding deception charges, I guess I never really thought about it from that angle.
Taking the sellers words at face value, where he mentioned that he "thought they were genuine", I appreciate that mistakes can be made, but at the same time they should also do their double and triple checks. Negligence in law isn't an excuse as far as I am aware.

Re: Wheel Courier company?
Well just in case anyone was wondering, costs of wheels was refunded, seller agreed to refund £20 from the £29.50 additional postage costs, as long as I agreed to revise my feedback from a negative to a neutral. The comments still stood, but I will take it at face value that he might have said "genuine and authentic" in ignorance.
