Modified E9 CSLs

Post by TopCat »

Interesting that there are two versions of highly modified E9 Coupes in BMW magazines at present

In one corner sits an E9 CSi body on a shortened E39 M5 Chassis the MKO V8
See here:
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5 ... cs-v8.html

and the other is a genuine CSL with a twin turbo 335i 6 speed shoehorned into original shell

they both seem to have the wrong wheels in my view

4 exhausts look naff on anything pre Z3M to me. Not keen on ride height either.

Seats look great. I'm sure I've seen that combo somewhere else?

Mind you, looks way better than the e30 M3 arched thing.

It's all subjective I guess though.

reckon they would look better on BBS Super RSs
like:
http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/ ... 2FMach+Lip

and was surprised that the grill chrome strip was so uneven! they don't seem to look right with the wheel offsets compared to a souped up original somehow

I remain convinced that less is more with E9s- see what I mean:
