So they are. I don't know if that's good or bad? Time will tell I guess? I quite like the funky looking tread pattern but hope they're not ditchseekers!
Am trying to sort the insurance out too. I declared every modification and Heritage quoted £172.14, with an agreed £10k value. As soon as I called to take them up on their offer they start saying how it all has to be referred etc etc blah blah blah. It really pi55e5 me off that they make these offers online and it's just a scam to get you to call them. Anyway, they've got all the info now so I'll see what figure they finally come back to me with? It's the agreed value that's paramount though.
I would suggest all UK e21 owners make sure you have an agreed value. If the worst happens the last thing you need is to try and replace your car on what you'll get as ''market value''.

We have the same issue here of course. Market value is established by writing off a percentage of the new value each year, with the age our cars have reached that's down to abt a EUR 1.000. So a decent appraisal and an insurance against this appraised value is a must for our oldies.
Got the coolant hoses all back on and got the engine fired up. Temporary temperature switch hose connector doesn't seemed to have worked as it is leaking and I've tweaked the clamps as far as humanly possible. Looks like I'll need get the proper one made up and drop the fluid again.
I think the new, clean coolant is more leak prone than the old, full of rust coolant. It's leaking from joints I didn't even touch!

Sad to hear as of course you're hoping for success the 1st time!
I started up the 323i for the first time after over 5 months. A slight hesitation, a few humps but then she ran fine on all 6 cilinders, and very clean. Happy!
Fitted new headlights, will take a photo later.
Next week I'm planning to fit 6J Alpina's at the front and 4 new Michelin Pilot Exalto tyres and I'm ready for spring!
Had the 323 out for a short drive. Just a small meeting at Polardego's place. Vent there for using his lift in the garage.
Ended up with a 1 price for best wintercar.
Now I an in germany and Had a powersteering for the Alpina with me. No problem to bring it on the plane. Monday jeremy get it and it will be put on the Alpina.

First MOT after 2 years and no advisories ! Only 90 miles in 2 years and 2249 miles since 2007. Don't think the insurance company will believe me if I told them I have only done 90 miles in 2 years. Need to start using the thing more !
Sold mine to a really nice guy who is new to E21s.So,if and when he joins us here, give him your usual welcome, chaps.
Now in the market for a new aquistion.A 323i,maybe.I've got some choice bits ready and waiting.
