Heater Blower Removal

Post by adragonr »

Hi All,

Through the recent cold snap i've decided I need to deal with the squealing heater blower!

Pulled off the bulkhead plate and managed to undo the clip at the top of the upper impellor cover but for the life of me I can't get the things off completely to take out the motor and impellors.

Am I missing something, is there a clip at the bottom I can't see?

I should also add I'm trying to do this on the car without removing all the heater controls, matrix etc.

My heater motor was squealing too, the bearings were shot and eventually seized up and I needed a new one. Once you get to housing the motor is in, there's clips on both the top and bottom of the cover for each side, if you feel around the bottom part you should be able to find them. Getting those covers far enough out of the way to remove the motor was the most frustrating thing for me the first time, as there isn't much room for moving them inside that compartment.

Agree, but then you should be able to get the fan out through the engine compartment, without removing any of the stuff in the passengers compartment.
