Do a nice thing for someone you might not know.

Post by e21-Mark »

I know a lot of people must be thinking.. "Why should I give to this? I've got my own problems. No one ever bought a car for me. Why do I care about this guy that I don't know, and I've never met". Yep - you could think that way I suppose.

But what you could also think is that you're contributing your part to the universe for positive change. Care for your fellow man. If you knew the full story of the circumstances, you'd want to give immediately - I know it. We haven't been telling the full story because it is still a sensitive issue for John. Just know that he gave up his 2002 because of very extreme circumstances beyond his control, and it has caused him pain ever since.

Imagine how you would feel if you had to give up your vintage BMW.

Imagine how great you would feel if the world gave it back to you.

Think about it - the world needs more positive, don't you think?

We would like to help a good friend and a good guy get his car back. If you have ever sold your pride and joy and regretted the day you did, you know how it feels - truly horrible .

John is an avid BMW fan, and started the Classic and Vintage BMW group. Bottom line is this.....Classic and Vintage BMW keeps you entertained for hours, days weeks and months, there are nearly 15,000 fans out there who he keeps entertained , which is no easy task!

We all love BMWs, and we must all know how he feels. If you can spare it, help a tip top man get his pride and joy back.

I've got $10 with his name on it. John has never asked anyone for anything (He didn't ask for this) and however we can, we should all help somebody who does so much for all us.

Good initiative so let me chip in. On top of that I never knew he's the guy behind the wonderful 'Classic and Vintage BMW' group... good work indeed and valued all over the globe!

I've done it too. You're right, I don't know John from Adam (excuse the pun) but a lot of people have helped me on here and not asked for anything in return - I'll take this as an opportunity to "pay it forward"

I like those initiatives! We had this guy from Belgium who crashed his car and we all felt so sorry for him that everyone chipped in, but with parts. So one donated a bumper, one a front wing, one a headlight, another one a grill, etc. All small tokens but they add up to a remarkable gesture and that what it's all about.

I think the guys are still plodding away but raised over $2000 so far. I've asked for an update so should have more details soon.

No-one ran anywhere.

I'm away at moment but will try and post the link later, so folk can see the exact details of what happened, but basically the guy was honest enough to say he simply couldn't afford to take on another classic car. He already had his daily driver BMW in the garage with a repair bill he was struggling to meet. It was then suggested that maybe the funds raised were used to pay this instead, as it would obviously be a big help to his situation. Obviously anyone unhappy with this action can request their donation be returned.

A message from John Erdody,

It's not too often that I find myself at a loss for words, but I'll do my very best here and now to express my overflowing gratitude for each and every one of you. My 2002 was sold due to tough financial times and it would have been nice if it boomeranged back to me but at this point in my life owning more than one BMW is not very practical. The level of generosity, thoughtfulness and understanding that's been displayed by each of you is beyond commendable. No, I won't be driving a 2002 any time soon, but yes I will be able to give my E46 the close to $2,500 in repairs that it desperately needs. Again, thank you all very much for all that you folks have done. I'm most certainly humbled and forever grateful. Much love and gratitude.

John

I hope this explains and puts peoples minds at rest.
