Think Mark only meant that in a positive way, there are a lot of project updates this week which is great fun to read and see!

I did.

I'm loving the postman finally bringing the bits I've saved for over the past 6 months. It's great seeing so many new builds progressing too.

Building a car back up is the fun part.. All these nick nacks end up to costing lots.

Yeah, I knew it would cost a fair bit to get rebuilt, but I'm doing what I can to stop things getting silly!

Collected the doors today, I'm sure my mum will be chuffed when she finds all this in the front room



Back of the valance is now undersealed:

Fuel filler cap fitted, needs a little bit of tweaking before it fits perfectly:





Did a test fit of the boot seal and I seem to have found where it was leaking, I've siliconed it up, so once that's dry tomorrow I'll know if it's worth keeping the seal or not.

Take it from me ,Eddie,it will always leak.A new one is an arm and a leg but well worth the investment.
Spare the tar,spoil the ship and all that.

That's what I've done, sealed the corners.

I'll use some rice in the boot once the boot lid is fitted and do some water tests. Can't do any harm anyway

The weather has been amazing today, clear skies and lovely, warm sun.

So naturally that meant a day on the BMW.

The boot seal fix "appears" to have worked, so time will be the ultimate test.

The rubber was cleaned with eraser and then sealed with Wolfs Trim Coat:





Plastic trim was über grubby:





Cleaned with eraser and dried with a heat gun:



I still wasn't happy though as there was some overspray from a previous respray:



So I gave it a good coat of black paint.

While that was drying, I cleaned up the boot lock/mechanism:



Nice and clean, again Wolfs Trim Coat on the plastic seal:



Boot badge cleaned up and treated with Wolfs Trim Coat:

Boot took a bit of a fiddle to get it aligned and not catching on the lock, but it's 99% bob on now

What does the wolf product do i see its a sealent of sort.

It restores the colour, and seals the rubber. Probably will last for 3 months or so.

It'll also go someway to keeping it soft and supple too.

As you can see, it's also perfect for plastics, keeping them black and watertight.
