Bushes

Post by DrGonzoPOW »

Right i really need to get this car back on the road, its been far too long. Last MOT it had it was pulled for worn bushes. The ones that connect the front wishbones to the anti roll bar. Im looking on Ebay now at these strong flex polyurethane ones from poland. Has anyone else tried these and do i need both the inner and outer bushes ? Thanks

Funny you should mention these as my car has been off the road for a few days whilst i track down these buggers.

Basically the OEM bush on mine is one part, unlike the poly. You have one T shapes mushroom type bush, theres a rubber washer that goes on the other side then a nut to tighten it. I can take photos for you, the polys are 2 part and go in from each side taking up any gap or slack stiffening the whole thing. If your not hard driving I say go OEM, i can give you the part number to phone BMW if you wish?

i think hes asking if they are worth buying..

i cant answer that cos i have a mix of homemade / superflex bushes.. I think Jamie (problemchild) has a set and even he managed to fit them. end of the day they are only a polybush, so as long as it fits then your not really gonna have a problem, and it will always beat the crap out of the standard stuff so change ALL of the ones you can.

they are easy to fit, because they come in two halves, you stick on half in either end and the metal tube goes in the middle.

The biggest pain is getting the old ones out tbh. Eurometric do e21 bushes too. might be worth having a look.
