Nardi steering wheel, sacriledge or ... ?

Post by Jeroen »

Let's throw the club in the henhouse :P . I'm wondering if a wood/alu Nardi Classic wheel would look nice in the Baur. Any opinions?

The model I have in mind:

Personally, they're not my thing and look a bit odd in an e21 however, it's not my car and I like the diversity of people doing their own thing. *

*so long as there are no Chinese eBay Alpina badges.

That wheel would look better as long as you have other wooden and alloy pieces in there.

No other wood in the car so I would say stay away.

Actually I was considering a MotoLita rivited wheel for my Baur so you aren't alone with your tastes.

If you're changing your wheel can I put first dibs on your 3 spoke leather wheel?

Am still looking for a walnut woodtrim kit for E21- even if successful then I would stick to my Momo Corse steering wheels!
PS Momo Corse often come up for sale on EBay from MX5s etc

It's interesting. I find it goes really well with the mahogany coloured leather in that e30, but not in an earlier e21 like yours, mainly because of the blue cloth. So yes I agree with the majority here too, I'd stick with the one you have :-)

Guess I have to agree with the public opinion. I absolutely love that steering wheel, but even with a matching gear knob added it just doesn't look at home in my car. Agreed, with a matching upholstery color it might be different.

As for the wood trim kits... I think they look absolutely horrible in both E21's and E30's. If you want to do something custom, I'd rather go full leather. Not part of my current plans though

I also believe that the current wheel looks way better!!
So I wouldn't go for the wooden one, either.

What about with black spokes?

Or, if it's the wheel design that appeals then with a leather rim

Matching gearknobs: ImageImage

Or something a little more contemporary? Very similar to the Momo Corse.

I'm taken with the gear knobs. I think they'd suit the E21. :thumbsup

Tempting, but I love the one I posted best. I guess I'll stick to the M1 wheel for now!

Still in love with your leather dash, especially the blue stitching!

My choice would be
1. M1
2. Momo Prototipo
3. other
