Dropped mine off at the mechanic to get the last bits done ready for roadworthy inspection. Expecting to drop off a large wad of cash soon in order to pick it up again!

how was it? :playcar
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Great. No probs. Except for the lights: Both last (two years ago) and this time, they found the normal beam to be a bit lower than required. They don't "cut" you for this, but I still can't understand how this happens: They didn't mind when the car had the factory single lights with halogen bulbs, and when I replaced with former Jimmy ("Alpina") angel set, they started finding it a bit low (more recent technology lights, with projectors, 3500K iirc, and new bulbs - at least to my eyes it seems they glow way better in the dark)

Oh, when I got in, one guy commented on the car (liked it)

Glad to hear that you've passed MOT!

In last 3 years I didn't passed MOT from the first time. they allways found something. mostly due to bad emission test and steering rack bushings or loud exhaust and NOT ORIGINAL STEERING WHEEL. :hammer

???

This is very weird...they act as if they were "asking" for something? (I mean a little something - you- know-what? e.g. tip :sealed )
In Greece, you could find such guys in the state MOT ...back in years, when private MOT did not exist yet.
Example: I keep my car in excellent condition, and yet, once in the past they said I had 1)high emissions, 2) the hand brake was weak (so they said). The car did not pass MOT, and they gave me one month to pass again.(after fixing the probs). Next to me, they passed a car that was in an obvious tragic state...Black smoke when turning on, bad idling, suspension in a bad condition (not even the same height each wheel...).I got very angry, but did not give money to the guy, and passed again. The first time, I saw the emissions monitor, it was going like a biased taxi meter, never stopping. Next time he passed me, not even saying a word.
Now, I am going to private MOT places. They always find something little (I think they just want to show they are not easy), but at least you know that you don't get such guys. No tips.

I know what you mean... I asked him does a radio have to be also original?
No soup for him!!
:D

And yes, they are only showing that thay are not easy and on the other side some rusty golf passed after me with almost no floor behind front seats! :D
mot inspestor said "OK, it's a golf and that is not car for speeding around."
So it can be missing some parts. flor and so on... bmw on the other side must be in the perfect condition I suppose... with original steering wheel. :D

Fitted my e30 rear view mirror with map reading lights

Also fitted my heated seats and got them working today.
As the summer is now over, these will come handy. I don't think anyone has done this mod on an e21 before. Used the 635 centre console and genuine e30 switches. Looks awesome I think.
