Some 17 year old kid apprentice at cg clutches did it. He was so young he even spoke in txt speak. He said "id av kncked it dwn furva bt rekond itd be t'weak".. he took off about 2kg off it or so its way lighter then the stock one. This is also first time ive seen a flywheel done with grooves milled in. Clever lad tbh and he gave me hope about the next generation lol. Only cost 65 to get done too.
I dont have any pics yet as not much else has happened at the man cave. Ive assembled my engine and box attached the loom and done some general tidying up.
Ive got a specialist welder to come over and modify the boot floor tovtake the e12 lsd i have. I was going to do this myself but my mate is awesome at welding and id rather he sorted it as its a critical job. I think ive hurt a few muscles lifting that e12 diff its really heavy compared to the standard e21 diff.
The plan for today im goin to clean up and wire brush subframes, tanks, bits n bobs all back to bare metal and then painting with rust bullet. It works really well the stuff i did last time i took the car apart has lasted fairly well.
Tomorrow i am going to make a start on doing the underside of the car. Where theres edges the factory protective coat has come off in some places, so im.going to go over the underside of my car inch by inch with the wire wheel and clean up any flakey paint and recoat that with a couple of coats of rust bullet. Hopefully ill have more pics by the end of the weekend.
