It`s a 02/81 323i, LH, Manuel. The diff cover are original 323/ E21. The engine are original 323, ( if something are done later??? ). Looks like Alpina alloys. Steering wheel and seat`s are not original.
What abaout the E24 in the background?
81 e21 323i polaris

It's definitely got some good bits on it (seats, wheels, spoiler, steering wheel, possible LSD) , but those Alpina 'badges'.... someone has just stuck those on. They're not correct at all.

Any'way to get more info out of the vin?

Big finned diff covers where an option way back when and not all of the licensed Alpina installers did it.

The e24... is another Euro car Grey market,

1979, 635CSi Very beat up, But low surface only rust.

I agree with jls, definitely not an Alpina in my opinion, however a lot of nice parts. Finn cover/diff, Scheel seats?, Possible Alpina alloys, and a grey import 323i in the states is in itself a very rare car. You could sell the good bits and fund a restoration with them for the rest of the car maybe. :shake

I've been researching this like mad, apparently you could get BMW branded Alpina wheels as an option.
There is also a this steering wheel

The pods are most likely gauges such as oil pressure, oil temp, AFR maybe, etc.
