Indicator Bulbs and holders

One of the great things about early BMWs is the fantastic rear bulb holder design- you probabaly take what you have for granted

but let me tell you that you are very fortunate!

Have had to replace stop and turn and indicators bulb holders for both Camaros recently- last changed around 10 years ago and didn't take a reference of which fitted.
Anyway after much searching I eventually found that early Triumph ones fit with some mods.

Now all of this is of no interest to you guys with E21s HOWEVER- because the American turn lenses are clear I needed to paint them orange............

Now found orange glass paint (which be warned takes a long time to dry) from an artist shop in High St

use a bulb holder from a container that holds all those screw in halogen bulbs that we all use in bathrooms and kitchens etc and let them dry..........hanging the right way round

Thought that this might be useful for those who have fitted the clear front indicator lenses to their E21

Just when I thought you 'd heard the last from me on this fascinating subject!

Just spent half an hour changing the rear brake bulb on my ZT-T. Unbelieveably awkward.

A job that would have taken 30 seconds in an Early BMW E30 E21 etc being such a good design rear bulb holders!

As for painting bulbs, if you spend a little bit more you can get rid of orange bulbs and still have orange light!
