Recaro adapters

Post by polov8 »

After a week or so of suffering the stock springtastic seats, I've had enough, and it's time to make some adapter plates for the Recaros I have. I've noticed the steering wheel is offset to the passenger side (at least on RHD cars) and that the bolt pattern on the recaros is about an inch narrower than the original seats, so my intention is to make the plates nearest the transmission tunnel exactly over the runner bolts, and offset the outer plates to move the seat over and line up the wheel and seat more effectively.

My question is, are the original Recaro adapters designed like this, or do they maintain the offset? Also, depending on how these turn out, does anyone else want a set?

Some pics of the adapters here: seem to be equally spaced.

Go sit in your car, I swear, the wheel is off to the left by about an inch!
