Brake master cylinder part number

Post by Jay C »

Hi All,

I'm continuing to really struggle with getting a new brake master cylinder. Does anyone know what or how I can find out the part number, please?

I have had a look and, without taking it off, the only number I can identify on my 1983 RHD 316 is A '20' in raised numbers on the cylinder. I am trying to get a master cylinder from a number of places but so far no joy and a couple have asked for the part number which I cannot find.

If anyone knows you could (possibly literally!) be a life saver.

Many thanks,

James

this is a scan of a old(1992) lucas girling parts book maybe you could try ordering the cylinder by number rather than by the car it fits and see if they still have stock.Or for the bmw part number try here....

Sorry for my lack of reply gentlemen - and thanks very much for the effort! Old email address and didnt get any notificaiton - too busy trying to keep my job to just browse!

Anyhow - in the end I managed to get hold of one from Linwar Motors. A left hand drive one woulda been a whole lot cheaper!

Cheers,

J

Nope, they're bloody expensive for LHD as well, over 200 Euros from the dealer now I believe. I'd get me a rebuild kit if it's up for an overhaul.
