wheel bearing is being a bugger

Post by nas80 »

So I ordered new front wheel bearings for my 323i front struts. So I got 323i bearings from parts store. They are made by firstline and are part fbk143.

I have double checked and they match manufacturers number.

So before I greased them up I thought I would make sure they went on the spindle. They only make it as just before the flat surface and get stuck just before they reach.

What is going on cos the old bearings used to slide on no problem. (Maybe that's why they were knackered).. anyway these won't go on and I am worried about tapping them on because I might not be able to return them and I don't think you are supposed to tap a hub assembly onto a spindle are you?

Can anyone confirm this for me?

Yea don't worry I worked out that you can't fit bearings on a spindle that has not been greased lol.

Bearings fit great.
