Post by bluebaur »

Seems ok. Can anyone help me.

Might be your diff. Not to sure but i think you can top up the oil in them.

If its louder in turns it may be a wheel bearing as well. But do you just hear it, or is it outright noisy? To my experience you always hear the diff in an E21, the 6 cil engines are more quiet so you'll you hear the diff more.

When I start the car from cold it's quiet,as I do more mileage and warms up then it really whines. Yes it is louder in turns, as I go faster the whiner it gets, my good friend cobbler said
It could be the diff, which I have tryed to change the oil but the nut won't move. Don't want
to force the nut incase it brakes.

Some nutter tightened the nut too far! BTW always try to undo the fill plug first. Just to prevent draining the diff and then not being able to fill her up correctly anymore. But should come off!

Another simple experiment: soak the center bearing with WD40 and go for a drive. Could be that one is on its way out.
