Heater box/blowers not working

Post by Eddie. »

I've fitted the heater box into the car, but absolutely nothing happens when I turn the knob to turn the fans on.

I've plugged the connector into the box on the top right hand corner, and I've connected the heater control knob up to its relevant connector.

Are there any other connections that need doing that I've potentially missed on the blowers?

I've seen on the diagrams that there should be a ground strap, but I don't recall fitting this when I put it all back in? Where should this go? Is there something I could do to test it?

Is there anything inside the heater box that I might have missed, any plugs or spades that could have come undone? (I don't want to take it all out if I don't have to)

Any advice welcomed!

Thanks

Check your fuses mate. Probably could do with cleaning them.

Checked the fuse, seemed fine and it certainly had not blown.

I'll give the contacts a clean though. Just a wipe down, or worth giving the contacts a rub with some wire wool/something abrasive?

Blower resistor that -I believe- sits in the blower housing, disconnected?

Yeah, I think it's the top picture that I have.

I'll get a multimeter on it tomorrow, double check that there is power going to the box, if not, I'll have to take it out :(

FIXED :D

It was the red/black wire under the scuttle panel. The red one had come undone slightly and must've been giving a poor connection.

Plugged in properly and it jumped into life.
