weber carb m10

Post by mcjjordan »

i got a 316 that had a perburg on with auto choke
started beautifully and idles fine
full throttle was fine but hesitated like mad under normal driving conditions.
was advised to bin it and fit a weber
so managed to source a 32/34 dmtl from a guy on here
bolted straight on !
had to do a bit of plumbing and had to mess around with vac pipes
( blocked both off that were on inlet manifold and just got a single pipe from weber to dizzy now and removed retard pipe from dizzy
now the thing flys with no hesitation
BUT it wont idle !
2000 rpm is lowest it will idle
have stripped carb all down and cleaned it all out

ive heard people say about an electrical idle valve but i have no such connection on my carb, so it may be a later E30 model but its same engine i though.

jets all seem to marry up with what i expect but again could they be different between E21/E30

anyone got any ideas?

seems the ig rubber base gasket was the problem
even though it didnt look bad
swapped it over with the original = all good
