Hi, i am new in bmw's so i need your help, please, my e21 has problems with de reverse gear, doesnt enter, i uninstall the transmition and take it to the specialist and he told that its ok, he take off that part where the shirter is, and pruve it, and he said is ok, he arm all over again and the revers gear dosnt enter, i think is the locking pin, isnot well installed, dou know what is the right way to installed?, thanks for your help, and sorry my english i hope you undestand me

there is a small allen bolt on the top of the gearbox where the shifter rod comes out, give that a tightening up.

Thanks i check that page and there nothing about this, and i check the allen bolt and is rigth, the revers gear does not work, and i dont know what the problem is

maybe you bent a selector fork?

Just to get this clear, even with the gearbox removed from the car it is now impossible to engage reverse? Or only when it is in the car?

No, does not work in the car and out of the car, we mane test too, all the it era work well just the reverse
