I don't really like the look of it to be honest. I prefer my Nakamichi.problemchild75 wrote:get your fat wallet out and get one of these![]()

Re: Stereo inspiration please
I have an Alpine cde-103 with bluetooth. I think you can see some pics in the owners' section.
Speakers are Kicker 60w (iirc) on the factory slots, (6"x4") and an active amp-sub(Roadstar, 80w) under the codriver's seat.
Not bad overall sound, but midrange (and some more low range...) is missing
The Alpine has 4color combinations, and at least a couple of them match very well the e21 interior(well, according to my taste), and usb and 3.5mm jack for aux
Also, the bluetooth feature gives the calls to the speakers, automatically muting the music from cd/radio etc, and also you can see the number calling on the monitor
As an improvement, might try to fit spacers as Mark did, in order to improve the rears to 6x9", and may be add an amplifier?

Re: Stereo inspiration please
Back in the 90's i had an mdf shelf covered in vinyl that allowed 6x9 to fit and it raised them jyst enough so the magnets would just touch those torsion bars, it also had square grills that fitted in recesses so looked totally clean .
Yes you did have to cut out metal and i think i had to remove window to get in there properly but sounded awesome.
I also fitted 6" speakers in doors inplace of pickets but had to remove the end of window runner and fab up a new mount to keep the runner in place

Where had you exactly fitted the 6" speakers on the door?mcjjordan wrote:I also fitted 6" speakers in doors inplace of pickets but had to remove the end of window runner and fab up a new mount to keep the runner in place
Once I saw my door without the trim, and it seems there is a place for round speaker near the bottom rear? Whenever I told this option to a sound fitting guy, they always kept telling me this is no good place to install speakers, as the sound would be lost, reflecting straight on the base of the recaro, but, I was thinking, wouldn't this be a nice option in order to fit a speaker that would produce the bass missing from the 6'x4' s?
