Off to work again

Post by Lars-Nord »

Nice start on work. Saturday evening in Stavanger and hotel right here in center of all bar's. I guess it's a new test from my company. ;-) if we can't find somthing Lars dosent manage, we send him on a hotel where all The beer is. He can't stay away from that.

This time they have right. ;-)
The weather is still nice and i can be outside in a tshirt.
Tomorrow it's onboard The Wessel Grand canyon for a ten day mission out in The north sea.
And there is a girl back home that called me an told me that she miss me already. Life is nice now. A little bit harder to go to work, but i love my work also, and it will always come first. Almost always. ;-)

The bad thing. I got a leake of coling water on my car today. ;-( i have to order some parts so i can fix it when i comes back home. Hard to be here when my beloved e21 is home bleeding. A hose, new radiator and a new coltant tank. And as a "sorry for leaving you bleeding" present. She will Get new fuel hose in The engine room.

Haha nice update. I guess the fix on the car won't be too difficult, haven't located the exact source yet?

The leak was from The hose on bottom of The radiator. So hopfully it is just that. But order a new radiartor also. You know, it's 32 year old plastic.

This Wessel is great. Outdoor swimmingpool with 32 celsius. ;-) gona be 10 nice days at work.

Over to some 21 again. Talked to Jeremy and he is on the Alpina again, so some good things comes out of all this crusing around on the seven seas, or just the north sea, but have to start somewhere. Sending the gearbox and diff for overhauling and starts up agin to build the car. We need it for next year, for the 323 going inn to jeremy also. Just a clean up and fix up on some smal things.... if not the B9 is getting in. Thinking of it...or I need an other car to put that engine in.

Here at work nothing happend today. Just some smal things here also. If weather is getting better we will deploy some big things tomorrow. A 52 ton pipe and some 10-15 ton covers to have over it. A big job out at Valemon field for Kvitebjorn platform.
I cant load up photos from here, but I will take some and load them up later.

Hi Lars
Good to hear you are back at work-- I know the feeling!

I was involved in Piper Alfa in 1988 and have noted the following vs Deepwater Horizons:

PA was a drilling rig in UK territorial waters run by a US company- Occidental Corp HQ 'd in LA
a total of 167 deaths occurred
total cost $1.7bn
this rig accounted for 10% of ALL uk oil production

Deepwater Horizon was a drilling rig in US territorial waters run by a UK company ultimately - BP (via a US operation)
HQ in UK
Total of 11 deaths
total cost (2011) = $37.2bn

Methinks a lot of spurious claims have been paid as a result of "the boot being on the neck" comment by Obama.
And yet we were all so British over the massive Piper Alfa disaster! What gives?

Then it was time for another trip to sea
. But little has been done today, ordered 10 sets of E28 535 brakediscs with 4x100;-) Special made. Fixed water leak at 323 `n. Was just a hose clamp that is not set as it should.
Missed an Alpina B3 3.3 which was for sale in the Netherlands, but all in all a good day.

And Elin went to cyprus... And already misses me. ;-)
