Original e21 tooling

Post by trash-berd »

I have no clue if anyone here would know, but the thought of it has been bothering me lately. Does anyone know what happened to all the original e21 tooling? Forming dies and assembly jigs and things of the like? Does BMW still have them, or did they sell them off?

I would guess bmw still have them as you can still buy most every part from the dealer

I have pipe dreams man. I see some of the parts walloth sells and made me curious where they got their templates from. I would imagine all the tools for every model car would just be too much to store, but I have no idea the storage space BMW may have

WN doesn't make this, they buy from several manufacturers that are specialized in replacement bodyparts. Well, not specialized enough considering the quality.
