late '02 I bought a '82 323i from which I removed dog leg and LSD and sold the car with 5-speed OD and open diff later on:




another winter ('11/'12), E39 with more salt than snow on it:



Salt is one of the reasons why none of my E21 are driven in winter anymore.
They are sitting in my garage and do not see snow / rain anymore.

Salt is the main reason why most E21's aren't seen in the winter months here in Holland as well.

A Winter video. Or 1 of may in Norway. A real nice drive that day. 1200 km and almost alone at the road from Oslo to Ålesund and back. And when you have fun, you don`t take the shortest road.

Or a different approach. Just couldn't find a decent online app to add falling snow without reducing the photo to stamp size grrrr
