BC Racing E21 Coilover Kit?

Post by Bullet Ride »

If BC Racing were to produce a coilover kit for the E21 who would be interested in buying one? Chances are the price would be around $1100 USD (that includes shipping if the destination is within the US)... or roughly 670£..or 800€ for those of you on the other side of the pond.

Apparently if there were at least 10-15 serious potential buyers they'd consider developing a kit

Here is the company website: http://www.bcracing-na.com/

The fronts would work the same as their E30 kit which requires cutting and welding the front strut assembly like this...

The rears would look something like what you see on the right...

670+ shipping and tax would mean that Gaz coilovers are cheaper this might impact on sales.

I'm aware that you guys have the option of GAZ over there, as well as Leda (sort of). I'm simply just putting the information out there to see if there would be any interest at all. Over here our only option is Ground Control. It's always good to have more options.

And for the record I don't work for BC Racing, I was simply talking to one of their tech support personnel recently and asked how many sets they'd have to sell to consider developing an E21 coilover kit.

:cheers

Having seen their stuff first hand, it seems to be really nicely made, and I like the facility to set the preload on the springs and set the height separately. The only thing i didn't like is that the top mounts, spring platforms and adjusters are all plated steel, which I can't see looking great having been on a car for a year or two.

I have bc coilovers on my Honda accord (Acura tsx) and they shit all over my gaz coilovers on the e21

Main issue I have with gaz is that you cannot adjust height without losing preload on the spring and that really irritates me.

The bc came with pillow ball top mounts and they have a really fantastic spring rate and even though the car laughs in the face of a bend it's really comfy.

I really like bc coilovers I'd be interested if I hadn't already shelled out on gaz coilovers.

They look good,I'm happy with my gaz though,
the only issue with gaz is them wanting your stub axels,
which I got around in the end by buying unused front gaz struts from ebay
