Mark's 316 M52/2.8 + Cat cams & Jenvey ITB's
Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
14" one I doubt will fit. its the top and bottom of the aperture that limits you as the slam panel and the bottom support gets in the way.
02 looks like it has the same wheels as mine.

It's same as one I had on TWR so should be OK.nas80 wrote:14" one I doubt will fit. its the top and bottom of the aperture that limits you as the slam panel and the bottom support gets in the way.
I'd like to think so Tim. I'd liked to have gone this year to be honest. I definitely intend getting across sometime soon either way.TopCat wrote:at manx classic 2015)?

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
Steels arrived. (thanks Charlie) The ditchseekers will be binned and I think I'm going to try gold powder coat on the rims?

Work is continuing on MIB and have been sanding the boot floor, underside of lid etc. All the stupidly awkward to reach spots. The engine mounts are off and the definitive versions are being fabricated and coated. Have also been hiding wiring and headlight/indicator wiring is now routed through the chassis rail. The 14'' Kenlowe fitted with a few mm either side. There's still a fair bit to do but definite progress.
There was a nice 3 door Cosworth that Mick had just painted. Flawless. (excuse crap phone pic)

Nice Carrera 4 in the oven too.

Am giving the e12 to my Mrs' younger son. (Seems he's developed a thing for sharknose BMW's)

Fantastic work! Hadn't been in your build thread for a while now..
MIB is going to be even better than before
Loved the black chrome kidney
Not sure about painting those wheels gold though...Your decision however.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
Thanks. There's been quite a bit of inspiration amongst the other UK cars and I'm looking forward to when we finally have them all in one place.
In an effort to try and capitalise on the Cat Camshafts, BBTB and six branch exhaust manifold, I've ordered an ITB kit from Jenvey. I want to run them without the MAF though and have velocity stacks, like the ones Ben has on his s54, so I'm trying to learn a bit about standalone ECU or, as a possibly cheaper alternative, see what can be achieved from running the stock ECU in Alpha N mode? I've been chatting with Dan the Man on the e30zone and he's confident that the stock ECU can be made to work. He put me in touch with Wayne @ Chipwizards so between us, I hope we can sort something. The inlet manifolds are just being made but should be here within a couple of weeks. The plan is to do some before and after dyno runs at Quest Motorsport. It might be useful to try them with and without the MAF also?

with regards to ECU have you considered utilisng an AEM FIC (the piggy back style ecu) for MAF cancellation/emulation. On one of the projects i'm working (with an early 1.6 mx5 engine) it uses MAF in standard form but the MAF can be removed by using the MAP sensor in the AEM to effectivly replicate the MAF Signal back to the original ECU.

Re: Mark's 316 M52/2.8 + Cat cams & Jenvey ITB's
Good luck with that.
Funnily enough I've read a bit about the AEM lately. Is it the same as the Dastek? (I actually have a Dastek that was previously used on an M52) It's all too easy for me to just find the whole subject more than a little confusing though. I've also been talking with Omex, having seen how well it works with Ben's S54 powered car.steed wrote:with regards to ECU have you considered utilisng an AEM FIC (the piggy back style ecu) for MAF cancellation/emulation.
