Steering wheels

Post by philiper »

Guys,

out of the choices of these steering wheels, which one is a straight swap for a standard e21? and how does the horn connect to the new one? and what sort of prices do these go for? seen a few on ebay but the prices are varied.

from this:

possibly to this:

second one will fit but only a very veRY VERY early model.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

mine was rubbery/plastic...but can check later in the workshop. I also have no.2 for the days that I'll want my car stock looking  I had no.3 also, cnc machined the splines out of a no.1 steering wheel and pressed in the no.3...currently I have a E30 MT1 steering wheel which suits the car I think the best.

Oops my bad, the original one on pic 1 is plastic only indeed, the nr 2 3-spoke is 'the E21' leather sports steering wheel

Apologise for causing confusion!

so do you think the 1st one can be re-trimmed in leather? would be nice to keep the classic look of the car.
