Next best thing to an e21 Z3M coupe

Post by Jason_323i »

MZ3 Coupe, 1999 car with 114Kmiles, 6 months MOT and TAX.

Previously a cat D when I bought it but I have looked it over in the garage and there is no obvious signs of where the damage was.

There was a little service history with the car when I bought it, but no history from before it was a CAT D.

Cosmetically it needs a bit of tlc the bumpers need tweaking to get the panel gap right and the rear bumper needs new clips (seem to brake a lot) so it sits level.
The filler cap got bent by another so needs a fix.
As I was going to use it for weekend blasts and trackdays I had the front shock towers welded up for strength, these need painting (Have paint cans just not used them)
Alloys could do with a refurb.

I bought it as a weekend toy and to play with on track days but don’t get a chance to use it much as I moved to the Middle East with work. I had one day trip to Oulton, and an aborted ring trip (Snow & Ice) which was 1 sighting lap.

Since having the car generally it has been fettled as needed, it has had an inspection II service last year which was about 2K miles. At the same time I sorted out a couple minor oil leaks, the common pressure relief valve and cam cover, and a rebuilt vanos (total cost £1600)

The only item I have had to replace since owning the car was the starter motor.

The car has also been modified a bit so it drives a bit tighter than a stock
Brakes
Porsche 996 calipers front and rear
E46 m3 disks front and rear
Stainless brake lines
15mm wheel spacers front
20mm wheel spacers rear

Suspension
New top mounts front and rear about 2000 miles ago
AC Schnitzer race coil over suspension
H&R front and rear anti roll bars

Exterior
AC Schnitzer rear spoiler (Rep)
AC Schnitzer front flippers (Rep)
Never Done rear diffuser (to fit)
Shorter aerial
Interior
Sony head unit iPhone compatible which swallows the phone

The only spares I have for the car are a brand new set of front pads for the Porsche callipers. Spare coil pack,.

As usual a modified car is hard to value, as the calipers suspension and acs spoilers where about 3k, so depends what you are after in the car.

I am looking for £10500,00 for the car I am not in hurry to sell it so don’t bother will low offers.
The car can be viewed outside Edinburgh, best to contact me by email first as I work overseas.

The pictures are from last weekend, when I was home I drove the car for a short drive the only thing to add was the idle was a bit of did have time to check it possibly due to the car not being used for a few months.

This is a cracking car, sadly I tried sitting in it at Oulton Park and realised I could never own a Z3M.
