Hi guys,
I'm looking at getting some GAZ coilovers for my road car. The one's I've got on the track car are some rose jointed things (I'm unable to tell if they are home made or not) but the cup the spring sits in at the top are loads smaller than the ones on the road car at the moment (bilstein).
I contacted GAZ about it and they said their kits should fit the standard top mounts but i'm having a hard time picturing how it will locate the spring properly without some extra parts.
If anyone has GAZ coilovers, do you use the standard top mounts? are there better ones available?
Thanks.
Rear top mounts for GAZ coilovers
Re: Rear top mounts for GAZ coilovers
They come with a collar at the top which locates the spring. The shock shaft goes through it and then through the middle of the top mount you do the center nut up and wack it back on the car

Ah cool. I'm just being thrown off by the weird ones on my track car.
Is there anywhere other than a BMW dealer which sell the OE top mounts? I'd like to retain a smidge of comfort if possible.

I forget what they cost, but the rear top mounts aren't extortionate from the dealer, and I'd trust their rubber to last longer than the stuff in cheap suspension parts.

I just got some recently from the dealer. I think they were 60 quid?

Coilovers should have a top hat as part of the coil-over assembly, they just bolt to the standard holes in the turret.

No from gaz they don't come with top hats in the rear you use the standard top mount on the car and standard spring rubber that sits between the pair
