Indicator question

Hi I've noticed on American cars they can have there indicators on at a constant looks good in videos and photos :smoke is there anyways I can do this or maybe set up a switch to do this

If you look at the connector to the indicators in the engine bay, you'll see it has 2 wires on a Euro one, but capability for 3 or more wires. the US modes use a double filament bulb, with a different bulb holder, so the running lights are powered up all the time, or when our sidelights would be on, and the indicator itself flashes using the second brighter filament. Finding US indicators should be easy, just go on bimmerforums and offer a swap for some Euro ones!

Hmm very interesting so I need us indicators and bulbs? And that is all? Are they illegal in the uk for mot?

Legality, I don't know, I'm guessing it's probably not legal, but you could dissconnect them for the test.

So the units are different. you'd just have to figure out how you want to switch on the running lights I guess.
