Starting issues

Post by brennon »

Ok, it's not quite e21 but it is still bmw!
The Mrs m535, she hasn't used it in a couple of weeks and the battery has gone flat.
Tried jump starting but it seems the starter is turning the wrong way. Spins over but when it tries to start it coughs and starts to spin the other way. Can see it as the fan spins.
The starter is also a pain in that it will turn for a bit and then whurr like its free spinning

Please help!

Spinning the wrong way says to me you've hooked the battery up the wrong way round... ?

Battery hasn't been touched and I'm sure I had the leads correct, tried it with 2 different cars on the off chance the e30 was lacking in power and that was effecting it.

I've got another starter on the way, hopefully that will sort it!
